Well, I understand that the U.S. considered both Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussayn as allies, at some point, and assisted them, but that those allies eventually turned against the U.S. I am simply afraid that history might repeat itself: with some of the new allies, getting resources from the U.S. (or simply buying arms from them), eventually turning against the U.S.
