There are few ways depending on what buttons do you have on your top toolbar.

1. If you have a button on your top toolbar that looks like users with the blank document and a red sign - you can use it.

2. May be an easier way - find a member you want to send a PM and from the profile you'll see an icon to send a message. It's an icon close to the envelope.
