This sounds like it will be an issue to very few people. As a product advances, certain things become more complex and a performance hit is felt. This is not new. Have you tried to run VFP on a 486-66 machine? It is slow. But FoxPro for DOS is still fast on the 486. I would say the solution is to do what you have done (make MicroSoft aware of the difference) and replace all the machines with Pentium II-400s. Or, stick with 5.0 for now.
