Somehow the update statement VFP is generating to update the access table is not considered valid by the ODBC driver. Perhaps you have a field that has the same name as a SQL keyword. Some people have had problems with the name Desc. You may also want to try something very simple like making a view that only updates one field to see if you can get the simplest case to work.
