>If I write the string to a file, I can not open in WinZip. Is this by design and is there a workaround?
I'd never thought of making the string compatible so that it could be written to disk. I'll look into it and see what I can do. The current implementation uses zlib's compress2 and uncompress functions for the string compression. Fairly standard stuff. I'm sorry to hear that the FLL gave your boss that impression. Given even the slightest hint on how to reproduce the problem using the FLL I would have certainly fixed it. I try to provide good support for the FLLs that I release to the VFP community. I'm glad you like the library Greg. I've been meaning to add some more stuff to it and some other compression formats and such. So, look for an update to it soon.
