Hi Sergey,

Thanks for your help - I read your link after Naomi's post.

Set ANSI was the problem.

I had searched the project for code references to ANSI using VFP 8 and nowhere was it shown to be set ON. For 1 reference in the load division of a class the line of code displayed was SET EXACT OFF. Seems to be a bug in the code references utility.

I subsequently used a VFP6 tool to search the project for ANSI which found and displayed the correct line of code in the load division of the class.

Strange how the smallest things cost you so much time,
