Well, that is not exactly what I meant. I was thinking more
along the line of commando operations limited in size/scope
and focused on those outlawed oraganisations and groups which are equally
threat to local governments and west in terms of terrorist activities
they might undertake. I don't believe Al-qaeda was ever really wellcome and protected by local governments except maybe in case of Afganistan.
BTW That 'clan blowup' stunt/scenario was supposed to be done only as act of clear self-defence. <vbg>
