>>We had a thunderstorm yesterday and the whole subway system was not operating (at least from Queens to Downtown). Took me more than 2h. to come to work instead of usual ~45 minutes. Walked from 34 street to 54th, which seems to be a nice exercise, since I become too lazy and don't do any physical activities anymore...

>Man, you just triggered memories of when I used to take the F train from Brooklyn through the city to 168th street, and then a few years later, taking the A and E trains from 208th to 168th. If anything went wrong, it turned into a 2 or 3 hour trip. Staring out the black windows, reading the advertising signs above the windows, reading the newspaper; anything to avoid making eye contact. I loved the city for all the things you could do/get/see, but hated the daily life of it.
I used to take the F train from 169th st in Queens (I assume you transferred somewhere to get to 168th street) into the city and had the same waits. Unfortunately, I also had an additional 45 minute bus-ride at the end of that to actually get home.
I can't understand spoken Spanish, but I learned a fair amount of words reading the subway ads side-by-side in English and Spanish. Plus I'll never forget (well maybe I've forgotten the exact sign)
If u cn rd this u cn gt a gd job at hi pa.
