SYMPTOMS
FoxPro for Windows may cause a "Divide by Zero / Overflow" error when
attempting to start on computers with 333 mhz (or faster) processors.



RESOLUTION
NOTE: The third-party contact information included in this article is

A third party workaround has been developed and that you may use to launch
FoxPro for Windows. The name of the application is Slowstart.exe. You can
download the file from the following URL:


http://www.vss-inc.com/slowstart.html

This product is manufactured by Visual Software Solutions, a vendor
independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise,
regarding this product's performance or reliability.
Please make sure that you review the Readme.txt files before applying the
workaround.

In some cases, just opening other applications (Word or Excel for example)
before invoking Foxprow.exe may resolve the problem.



STATUS
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in
the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior
Run FoxPro for Windows on a computer that has a 333MHz (or faster)
processor. On some computers, the error occurs with each invocation, while
on others, the program fails at random intervals.

NOTE: The problem described in this article may also occur with computers
that have multiple processors.
