Try using the native resolution of the screen, most likely 1680 x 1050
I use a wide screen all the time, very useful for developement tools.

>I have an app that was created on a Windows 2000 pc, and my monitor was the old standard 4:3 style. Just recently I bought a new pc with Windows XP (SP2), and it came with a 20" widescreen monitor. I'm set up in 800x600 resolution.

>2) As an aside, I don't know what all the hullabaloo is about these wide angle monitors anyway. It's not that you're seeing anything more on the right side of the screen. All do is just stretch out the display. In fact the resulting display, after this stretching, is that it distorts the display. People in jpgs for example, appear wider and fatter. Maybe this stretching is at the root of my problem, above.
