All do is just stretch out the display. In fact the resulting display, after this stretching, is that it distorts the display. People in jpgs for example, appear wider and fatter. Maybe this stretching is at the root of my problem, above.

A while ago, Mr. Visa and I went and accidentally bought a 32 inch viewsonic hdtv/monitor. The recommended setting for this shape of screen is 1360 x 768.
