I just spent about 30 min trying to replicate what you are getting:
Reindexing, Indexing, etc. Nothing! The only thing that happens,
which is very natural, is that your record pointer goes to top.
Though VFP manuals claim that grid's behaviour is very similar to
Browse (i.e. after indexing and reindexing you have to re-issue browse,
because it DOES disappear), VFP 5 doesn't have that behaviour for its
grid control. BTW, are you using 5.0 ? Because the behaviour might
differ dramatically. Unfortunately I dropped 3.0 so I can't test on it.
