This weekend I red an interview with a Dutch female professor. She was born deaf and after over 50 years she got an implant that connects to the nerve that sends what we hear to the brain. She's now able to hear. But in the morning she turns the device on not before she goes to work, because she gets somewhat stressed by 'irrelevant' sounds.
