I realize this is off base for what you are looking for, but here goes.

Almost 20 years ago I was hit by a train (don't ask how or why, I don't recall the actual event.) While in the hospital, I was visited by the doctor one day. He tells me "You are very lucky man mister Reichert. General people with your severity of head injury are either brain damaged, severe memory lose, bed riden, or worse; dead." I looked at him ask "How is being dead worse the any of the others you mentioned?"
