I don't know what happened to make it read only or how to undo whatever happened! It seems that all the tables are now read only. Can anybody help me out? Please!!

If it's been set read only at the operating system level, how you change it will depend on your network OS. If you're using Netware, you could go to the directory and type FLAG *.* srw. If you're using NT, highlight the files in Windows Explorer, right click and choose properties. Un-check the read only box.

Josh,
Thanks for your quick response. I went to our network administer with the problem and as we were checking things out he discovered that the backup tape had run out in the directory of the inventory system. That's why the files were read only! What a relief for me as I couldn't figure out what I might have done to create the problem in the first place. So all is well again now that the backup has a new tape! Thanks again for your help.

Rhea
