>>>>>>I hit my limit on my XP Pro installs and it's telling me I used up my registration keys. What do I do? I can get a new XP Pro from Ebay for about $130, but can I install it over the current installation? I have lots of stuff installed, utilities, etc and didn't check the activation because I didn't have an internet connection at the time. I know I'm not the first to run into this. Thanks!

Thanks for the link too. I found this little $10 utility that will basically do the same thing, I think and save me the hassle: http://www.keytech-software.com/KeyChanger%20-%20Windows/Specs.html

>>>This is Windows XP you are talking about? You were told that you can only install it on the original machine, and that is it? That is incorrect. You can install it on one machine at a time if it is not an OEM version, but it doesn't have to be limited to the original PC.

>>You are and that's what she told me. I told her the situation and she basically said too bad. Her English sucked, but she made it clear that was the policy. I hate dealing with MS anyway. It's worth the $100 bucks not to have to talk with them anymore. Oh yeah, she did say I could upgrade to Vista. I told her it was my policy to not do that for another 6 months... <g>

You should also tell her it's your policy not to get screwed over by somebody who doesn't know what they are talking about.

Can XP licenses not be transferred multiple times? Does anybody know for sure?
