I thought it was the first press conference of the administration? My memory make be wrong though... or it was after a major event and they only wanted to provided prepared answers on the event or something like that. I remember the press wondering if all future press conferences were going to be the same and the administration justifying it somehow like there was so much to do before more information could be available or some other nonsense.

>>>Do you remember seeing Bush do a press conference where the questions were submitted BEFORE the press conference? He had reviewed all the questions (well, I'm sure he had someone that could read do it for him) and had all the answers prepaired ahead of time (again, sure he had someone answer them for him too), so when he did the press conference, he'd just call a reporters name out, they'd ask their question (that they'd submitted) - then he'd respond with his prepaired answer. It was one of the most ridicilious things I'd ever seen.

>>When and where was this? Can you please provide a link to the stories about this incident? I really can't imagine the press corps going along with such a scheme. Was this an isolated incident or are you suggesting that all his press conferences are done this way? Where is the documentation that this happened? I'm very interested in reading more about it.

>It was at the white house and is was a while ago. I remember it well because all the news anchors on CNN were commenting what a strange press conference it was. I've been googleing around tryin to find something about it but I'm not having any luck. I did find this http://dir.salon.com/story/news/feature/2005/02/10/gannon_affair/index.html but that isn't it - the one I saw there were 8 or 9 questions asked. He would even point to one of the reports and say "you had a question a about blah blah" - the reporter would ask the question about blah blah, he'd answer with is obvioulsy predesigned answer - the point to another reporter and do the same thing.... it was really quite bizare to watch.
