I've never tried with ArsGIS (we have old versions and mostly on unix) but with MO it works well. If they're saying you can do that with .Net then I'd think you could set it for COM interop and use in VFP too.
Check etechnologia.net and west-wind.com (and Sedna/Sednax projects).
