I'ver learned about several bands I had not listened to before because of hearing them on Sirius. Also picked up a CD or 2 of some classic stuff because the DJ on Sirius mentioned it.

In particular, some small label released a 3 CD set of the 2 nites Joe Cocker did at the Filmore for the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour. The original Mad Dogs Cd is a cross section of what the label picked from these 2 nites. I never would have found out about the new release without hearing about it from Sirius.

>>Thats why they make CD's and MP3 players

>>As far as I am concerned, all the good music has already been written and I already (legally) own most of it.

>>If I was interested in sampling a wide variety, or hearing the latest pop or (C)rap, or interested in sports or shock jocks, I might be tempted.

>That's what I did for a while - listen to my MP3 player on the drive to work. Honestly, I don't listen to it nearly as much now that I've got Sirius (at least on the drive to work). As far as all of the good music having been already written, well, you're wrong <g>. A lot of good music has already been written, but I've picked up a few new CD's (well, iTunes) because of some of the stuff I've run across.

>I also really like the comedy channels; I can't imagine buying a comedy album but listening to stuff off a wide variety of them is nice. And yeah, if you're a Howard Stern fan, his show is better on satellite.
