I don't think there's a measurement device big enough to hit the level of my disgust on all of this.

Actually, if you want to look for a silver lining in all of this, there is one positive thing that can be said.

I've listened to interviews with attorneys and legal experts who have all agreed that the conduct of everyone involved (investigating agents, prosecution teams, etc.) was totally professional and efficient. They put together hard evidence in a very fast period of time.

How many times have you heard someone say, "well, so-and-so has high-priced lawyers, he'll be able to wiggle out of it"? Not so in this case. It didn't matter that Vick had money and one of the top defense attorneys in the country. The prosecution did their job.

(And while I have zero sympathy for Vick, someone made a comment that I agree with - the prosecution didn't HAVE to accept the guilty plea. They did so because their job is to seek justice, not revenge. Not to mention that a trial would have cost quite a bit of $$$. As much as I emotionally would love to see Vick suffer, I think a year or so in jail and then a huge suspension is good justice).

Given the black eye that our legal system took with the Nifong/Duke 'rape' case, I think we can look to this case as a much better example of the system working, and we should all take pride in that.
