Often they are hanged and beaten to death (there is a belief that the greater the suffering the tastier the meat). Now the dogs will initially take this in their stride as their master punishing them and it's quite pathetic that some will still be wagging their tails for mercy right up to the end. I was absolutely sickened by this.

I'm kind of sorry you told me that. It's going to haunt me for a while.
