I don't know if this is a new trend or just my daughters but when we went school shopping a couple of weeks ago they wanted tote bags instead of backpacks. One of the reasons Emily mentioned is they are easier on your back.

The totes they decided on were from Victoria's Secret, of all places. Which led to the odd result of me entering the charge into Quicken with a payee of Victoria's Secret and a category of School Supplies.
