I ALWAYS took this as read, that Ollie took the grenade for his masters. I assumed EVERYONE assumed that - all part of the charade of politics (such as detente and diplomacy - an ellaborate game, with transparent moves by all sides that the other sides pretend not to see)

My twopenn'orth: I always liked Bill - type of guy you could imagine slipping into an English pub and having a pint with you (so long as he doesn't swallow it :-) The huge amounts of money your country spent on trying to prove that he ha a BJ in the Oral Office was ludicrous.
