Yes, the column count in the parent class is different. But I don't know if it has changed from when this grid was created. The parent's column count is 30 and the grid's is 26. However, the property sheet (and the fact that there is a line in the properties field of the SCX) indicate that the value was changed to 26 rather than that being the default value from the parent class. I would have expected that I should be able to alter a property in my grid, modify the parent class, and retain the altered value in my grid. Is there some reason why that would not be the case?

At any rate, I went into the SCX and manually set the column count back to the default value of the parent class. The form would now open, but when I went to save it I get

Member object removed -- cannot complete the Save operation

. I went back into the SCX and simply removed ColumnCount from the properties field. Same story (I could open the form but not save it).

Any ideas on how to resolve this particular problem? I can probably delete the grid and rebuild it, but would much prefer to know what is causing this problem. I know of at least one other form in this project with the same problem and suspect there may be several others in different projects.
