>>Ok. I was a little off. The victim was actually 9 years old. It happened in Missouri.

>>Wow. I am stunned (for real). It's incomprehensible to me that a judge would give probation for raping a child (and it was his step granddaughter!!!).

>>If I had a nine year old daughter (or 5, or 13, or whatever) and someone raped her, I'd gut the bastard like a fish.

>I better stop before somebody calls me a raciest and a bigot.

I see nothing racist or bigotted about your having pointed out a gross failing of the justice system. Besides, you're of a race yourself that is often subject to racism, bigotry, bullying, ridicule and prejudice.

One of the more tragic tales I read about in recent years was that of the actor (and doctor) Haing S. Ngor, who played photographer Dith Pran in "The Killing Fields". A native of Cambodia, he became a captive of the Khmer Rouge and was imprisoned and tortured. In order to escape execution he denied being a doctor or having an education. He moved to the U.S. as a refugee in 1980.

He died at the hands of an asian gang who tried to rob him for crack money in 1996. I seem to recall that, ironically, those kids were cambodian refugees themselves who'd grown up in the gang culture of LA. He'd worked FOR cambodian refugees, including co-founding two major refugee aid societies.
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
