>The NFL owners should be ashamed of themselves for ever letting him play. I believe all this stuff could have been predicted based on his and his brohter's past.

>Well, on this one point, I have to disagree (though I get the frustration). You can't blame owners for things like that.

>But I applaud the league and Arthur Blank for taking a very tough stand against Vick.

>I listened to his "i'm sorry" speech today and it was pretty weak. He kept referring to "bad judgement", etc. What concerns me the most is that this kind of cruelty towards animals represents a serious viciousness that goes beyond "immaturity", "bad judgement", etc. Vick is sick.

The owners should have done their homework. Would you invest millions into someone and not know everything about them, from the time they were born forward? I wouldn't, and I'm not a millionaire. Those guys are saavy with money and investments. They knew what they were buying and I hope this opens their eyes. Both of the Vick kids came from da hood and they brought gang signs and gang affiliations with them. Gangstas like pit bulls, dog fighting and other forms of idiocy. Having said that, just because a kid grew up in the hood, that doesn't preclude them being a model citizen. A simple background investigation would have yielded that on both of these kids though.

Hopefully the NFL will start to squeeze the gang bangers out of football. I believe Darrent Williams was a gangster and was shot by a rival gang. He came from a gangsta past in Houston and he had tats that indicated to me he was a gangster disciple. Live by the tat, die by the rat-a-tat-tat, I guess.
