Sorry, that was misleading on my side. You have an expression that uses MAX() and PADR(). If the length of this string is equal or smaller than the previous content, the memo file should retain its current size, otherwise it should be growing at least by the length of the new content. As you see memo file growth, I'd make sure that the length is really not longer than the existing content. Otherwise memo bloat would be the expected behavior.
