>I received a call today from a person -- he presented himself as a numerologist from Vancouver (I'm in Toronto) -- wanting me to sell my home phone number.
>
>My home phone number, as he said, included the ages of himself, his wife and his mother. So irresistible it appeared to be, he offered $500 immediately and increased the amount to $2000 a minute later.
>
>It sounded pretty sincere; still I had to say no.
>
>I recall a similar call I got about 4 years earlier from another person offering same amount of money for my home phone number for it included a word describing his business.
>
>It's not a riddle :) I wonder if a market exists for phone numbers same as for catchy domain names.
You could run your number through a program to see what words spit out. I bet there was more to it than the ages of he and his family. Those change, and within a year the number is no good to him.
