Title:
VS versus VFP programmers: 100 to 1
I just listened to an old podcast where I heard Ken Levy say in an interview on Octover 3, 2005, that (at that time) there were 100 Visual Studio programmers to every 1 VFP programmer. I was surprised to hear such a high ratio. Now I really feel out of the loop until I pick up VS.
It kinda feels silly being part of such a minority. Could so many be right about what to use to develop in (VS), and here we are still holding on to VFP, trying to convince ourselves that "we're a great community".
No wonder MS wanted to quit developing VFP (i.e. 100:1).
Ken also pointed out that even if every VFP jumped to VS on the same day, it would only make a 1% increase in the VS customer base. Wow, he really pointed out that we are in a pitiful situation, even way back in 2005. It's probably even worse now.
Just some recent thoughts I've been having.
