I don't recall all the issues, but there have been a number of problems when calling reports while a grid has focus. So.......

Make sure you set the focus off either of the grids when you call the report.
Also make sure that the active workarea points to the current table.

somecontrol.setfocus()
SELECT parenttable
REPORT FORM etc
