>>>Mathias,
>>>Good my Access knowledge is near 0, for VFP can help. The easiest way to make a form PEM (prop.event, method) accessible from anywhere is to activate the form with a name clause :
>>>do form myform name somename linked
>>>Somename is now an object ref to form throughout the app. It's released as form is released (or Form is released as it's released).
>>>There are other ways too (as someone said - you could do it in VFP in at least three ways or cannot do at all). ie: _screen.forms collection hold object refs to form(set)s.

>>When I'm stuck programming in Access, I occasionally come here to ask general questions about SQL that might be of interest to vfp programmers. Even with SQL, I often have to translate the answers. General questions about relational databases should also be all right. Questions that compare vfp with Access would be all right, except that those questions are asked so often that people here get tired of hearing them. I would not ask anything specific to Access, because it will annoy people in this FoxPro forum. That means anything about Access controls, procedures, or classes.

>>I have not yet found a good Access forum. But I haven't looked very hard. I would like to hear about it if you find one. I occasionally post on "Access All Areas" (http://www.wolf-uk.com/) but it only gets a few posts a day and is unlikely to generate correct answers to tough questions. Since your question sounds more basic, it might get answered there.

>Brett,
>Come on, I didn't yet come across a situation that would annoy members of this forum. I would reply to question if I ever knew Access and the answer, w/o thinking it should be posted to somewhere else. Even it's an Access question, Mathias could get a correct answer(s) here than he might on any forum. I ask my nonVFP related questions here too (such as NT,Novell) and get at least one correct answer. You see other Access programmers (like you) also check here too. Don't let his motivation decrease. VFP members are kind enough not to flame for posting here.

I guess "annoy" is too strong a word. Anyhow, it doesn't bother me at all. I am also not bothered by chatter about basketball, which our fearless leader Michel has always permitted in moderation. I have T1 at work. But I wouldn't be surprised if someone quotes the 5th Commandment of Conduct :) regarding "posting in the appropriate forum". Bringing that up would not constitute flaming. Michel's opinion on this subject would be welcome.

Your questions about networks are actually fox - relevant. And, since you have been so helpful to so many, few would begrudge you a little bandwidth for something or other (like a greeting to a fellow Turk :)
