Did anyone else see this? It was very enlightening and interesting...

One very interesting section was an activity done at a local school in France. They asked gradeschool students to draw a picture about America and explain it to the class. The pictures ranged from soldiers killing children and destroying the world to George Bush in charge of oil and McDonals ruling the world. One Asian child wrote the English alphabet on her paper and stated that 70 or 90% (can't recall exactly except that it was at least 70% and I was shocked she believed it) of Americans do not know the ABCs and cannot read.

Also interesting was the idea some French intellectuals had that only blue collar workers voted for Bush. We know from the numbers and demographics that isn't true. Also, the intellectuals honestly believed that Kerry's education far surpassed Bush Jr - not true either.

The views of the Polish were very interesting. Supposedly, most Poles consider America their Big Brother and a good brother at that. Sort of like a wealthy relative and a strong protector always on their side. They knew though that most Americans probably don't view Poland as a little brother.

Also, pretty much the entire world considers all Americans to be ignorant of the rest of the world. That is not true either. It is however, a perception perpetuated by the media overseas.

I guess the media everywhere controls world perception!

I find it also interesting (and a little humorous) that most Britains consider they are responsible for America and take credit for our successes. Funny that they don't feel responsible for our failures :o)
