Many cause could there be.
-Where data reside. Local or server. If on server what's tmpfiles setting ?
-If again a network is in effect (data local) do you have any physically nonexistent network connections (done connection, terminal shut down).
-Does ie: UT web page open and refreshing often ?
-Silly but someone pressed Ctrl+alt+(-) on your machine ? (Turbo off)
-Again PC's are same but configuration different in hw setup ?
-Do you have debugger open background ?
