If the Democrats were witch hunting him that would be one thing but the GOP is the party screaming for his resignation.

Now as to Karl Rove's resignation - there is an old saying in intelligence circles "Retirement is another form of cover." <s>

He's not supposed to know anything about the secret language of birds, is he? Gay birds too. Then all the mumbling about his failure to seek legal counsel (as if there's anyone who qualifies for burger flipping who doesn't know that you don't do anything with the police before lawyering up first), then "I'll resign", "I won't resign", "I'll resign, maybe"... and so he's pretty much painted a victim of wrongful, or at least unsubstantial, accusations. These get dismantled over some time, shown to be a result of a witch hunt. Then all the other accusations start looking suspect too.
