Proven facts. Not "god is with me so I didnt get hit by that train", but "I hit the brakes so I missed the train".

Theology is a Greek word, theos, "God", + logos, "rational discourse", "knowledge", "study", "science", so, literally, Theology is the science of God. The dictionary says this:
the·ol·o·gy (th-l-j)
n. pl. the·ol·o·gies
1. The study of the nature of God and religious truth; rational inquiry into religious questions.
2. A system or school of opinions concerning God and religious questions: Protestant theology; Jewish theology.
3. A course of specialized religious study usually at a college or seminary.
..so I don't really see how you can discuss one without the other.

>Religion has no place in this conversation.
You can't have God without a religion, and since there is no such thing as god, then religion/theology is nothing more than the study of myths and false reality.
