Just to clarify...I do not think .NET sucks, I think the delays in the IDE are a PITA. What good is a "modern" development environment if it causes you to lose productivity.

Unfortunatly, this is becoming the trend...Comparing these products to their earlier conterparts has in many cases slowed down my productivity because of unnecesary delays in the user interface:

VS2005 vs. VS2003
SQL Management Studio 2005 vs. SQL Enterprise Manager 2000
Windows Vista vs. Windows XP
