To learn this, stick a textbox (TbTestValue) on the form with a ControlSource of THISFORM.TestValue. Add the property TestValue to the form. Add a button and in the click event place code like this:

select Cursor1
sum Column1Name to THISFORM.TestValue
THISFORM.TbTestValue.refresh
