Al,

Thanks for the reply. Let me respond to your questions first:
Yes, I'm running VFP 6.0 SP5. Version() returns "Visual FoxPro 06.00.8961.00 for Windows"

After putting the sys(3050) command into the program my issues went away. I just wanted to see what the differences were. I originally started with 512000000 and then used 1024000000 to see if the symptoms returned. I will use a lower number to see if that impacts performs in either direction.

"Have you tried issuing SYS( 3050 ) with lower values after your process finishes?" I'm not sure I follow, "...after your process finishes?" Do you mean after the commands I listed above or at the end of the program?

Thanks again for your response. Can you also respond to these questions?

1. Do you have to put the sys(3050,1, nBytes) in each and every program that is called within a VFP session or is once good enough for the life of the session?

2. Is sys(3050) something you can add to the config.fpw startup file?

3. I have a program that a) appends data from a file into a free table, via "append from ..." then b) executes a few "replace" commands, c) sometimes sorts the file, via "index on" and d) copies the contents of the table to disk via "copy to ... sdf".

As far as I can tell the sys(1104) and Flush commands are not doing anything. Is this a memory leak? The only way that I can find to release the memory is to exit VFP.

Thanks!!
