In the current version (2.4) we are using "alternative" technology for MM .NET Windows Forms and Business object proejct templates although we use standard VS 2005 templates for all web-based projects (in the upcoming MM .NET 2.5 we switch to standard VS 2005 template technology for all types of MM .NET project templates).
ANYWAY, to get your custom template to show up in the New Project dialog you would have to modify the .vsdir and .vsz files found in this folder (it's somewhat convoluted Visual Studio technology):
C:\Program Files\Mere Mortals .NET Framework 2005\VB\Templates\Windows Forms Template
Honestly, I think it's better for you to create a brand new VB .NET project (you can start by creating an MM .NET Windows Forms VB proejct) then running the Visual Studio wizard to create a project template. Once you have the project the way you want it, just select File | Export Template from the Visual Studio menu, follow the wizard instructions and it will create a new project template for you.
