>So every country that displeases the mighty US gets a bomb dropped on it? Soon there'll be no countries left.

>'Displeases' - right, we are displeased when someone attacks us on our soil, without provocation.

>You guys are speaking as if 9/11 never happened. You don't fight terrorism by internal bickering, rationalization, or wishing it away - you cut its head off.

Agreed! But you want to take off the torso and limbs too!

>Listen 'mate, if on 9/11, someone flew airplanes into the building where the Queen Mother was living, you Brits would want to bomb the bloody piss out of those responsible.

We did too much of that at Dresden et al (as you guys did too - not to mention Hiroshima and Nagasaki) and still feel the shame of it today. No, there's no way that killing thousands upon thousands of little kids, nursing mothers, honest shopkeepers, postal workers, stall holders in markets, etc would make me feel any better for, or assuage my anger for such an attrocity.

OTOH, get the guys who planned it, ordered it, perpetrated it, supported it, supplied it, etc. and as far as I'm concerned you can hang them by their bell-ends, with piano wire, till they rot off and they drop onto a bed of sharpened bamboo shoots, where they can stay till they bleed or starve to death.

But don't take it out on the innocent, even if the 9/11 victims were themselves innocent. "...those responsible..." is the apposite phrase.

Besides, it's not just nuking that's the problem - you have al;l the fall-out then too.
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
