I thought that the documents and settings folders were dependent on the cryptic key (user) and if you just copied/pasted them over then things got all out of kilter. I think I tried this before and it was a bit of a nightmare because security settings and all that were not exactly the same between the two systems and the new OS would not recognize the users being transferred over. I know I can just copy data over, but if I want to retain all the users and their settings, etc, I thought there was more to it.
