I ended up trying the Easy Transfer over my home network and it worked really well. I did cancel the first attempt as I realized it was going to be much faster to move data (pics, etc) using my external hard drive. It handled the users, settings, and all that stuff no problem going from XP Pro on the old PC to Vista on the new notebook. I had minor tweaking to do, and I have a bunch of application references I need to remove, but all-in-all a pretty decent experience. Vista doesn't run a couple games it used to (really old DOS Mario Brothers and the like), but that's not really a big deal. I'm kind of liking Vista so far...
