Thank you for the information. You say I should start with a buffer size of 512k. Please forgive my lack of math skills but in message #882003 you show an example of
SYS(3050, 1, 512*1024*1024)
Which isn't the same as 512k.

How exactly does sys(3050) work in regards to the buffer size? If we set the buffer size to something small like 512,000 how will that affect performance when loading say 1 million records into a table?
