Yep. Already did that, but thanks. As I mentioned, I was just thinking the combobox in Dropdown Combo mode would just put the entered value into the ControlSource (which was a form propery in this case) regardless of whether the entered value was in the list or not. Actually, it seems to me like it should work that way. Having to place the entered data into the combobox's list just to get it to save into the ControlSource seems odd. I'm a little astounded that I've used VFP for so long and have made so little, if any, use of the combobox in that mode. Live and learn. Thanks again.
