The missing items aren't tabs on the Solution Explorer - they are other windows docked on the same edge. To get them back select them from the 'View' menu then drag the windows over the Solution Explorer.

Update: Guess that isn't quite right - actually the windows get combined when you drag one window onto the caption of another.....
