It's one of possible ways. You can assign any stored procedure/function to be fired by table update trigger (table properties of table designer), in more complicated scenarios you would probably have to write some program module. This way assume maintaining of duplicate data for some time. Surely, one-time conversion is easier, but it entirely depends on client's needs/requirements.
