I am trying to connect my VFP application to a Oracle database.

From Oracle site i've downloaded 'Oracle InstantClient', unziped it to a folder ('c:\InstantClient').

Next i've created 2 new XP environment variables: ORACLE_HOME and TNS_ADMIN, both with the value 'c:\instantclient'. Then i've changed the 'PATH' environment variable, adding the expression ';c:\instantclient' to the end of the variable.

Then i've created a new ODBC System DSN, called it 'test', and with the connection parameters to the DataBase, (Server Name, User Name, DSN Name).

The next step was, in VFP, create a remote view to a database table: selected the 'test' datasource, then i put the password, but i receive the following error: 'Connectivity error: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver for Oracle][Oracle]ORA-12514: TNS:Listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor' (Error 1526)

What am i doing wrong or what am i missing?

Note: I'm using 'Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle'.
