Restore your project and let's try again.

This is from the Tutorial:
"Enter the name of the CDE class you want to create, and the library you want to store it in. By convention, we recommend creating a library named appData.vcx in your application Source folder. When you press OK, the CDE class will be created, and left open in a Class Designer window."

Where did you create your class library?

Also:
"Delete All NDE Cursors
One bit of additional cleanup remains - deleting everything from the original data environemnt of the form. Open the native data environment (NDE), and delete all cursors and relations. The form will now get all its data environment information from the CDE we created."

So, after you export it, follow the instructions above.

I recommend you to open the Help and go to Tutorial Exercises, Tutorial 2 - Using a design-time CDE Class. It is only a 3 step Tutorial, and will put you in the right direction. This way, you will create a data layer outside your user interface form, a very good practice to follow.
