>>>OK, thanks chaps. I want to email a 6MByte-odd .wma track, ripped from a CD. It won't compress any more to a winzip, as expected. ANy suggestions?

>No. I've been scouting around WinPlayer and the Web to find a plug-in that can convert the CD file to .mp3, but I onlu have .wm? options

A cd file is just a wav file. When you save a wav file to a cd as a music file it creates a cda file which is just a catalogue entry for the wav file.

Look for an app called CDEX. It's free and it's very good.
