I don't think you have to worry about MS killing DBF's. That will never happen. The only thing you have to worry about is will MS do something stupid in one of their future OS's that will not allow a 32bit app from running. I don't think they will ever do that. At least not in the next 20 years. There would be no point for them to do that. They may actually make the SQL product affordable for everyone. (Don't hold your breath.)
